Getting Started
This guide walks you through the initial steps of setting up a new drainage project in the platform, ensuring you have the correct geographical context before you begin laying pipes.
1. Creating a New Project
When you first log in, you will be directed to the Job Manager dashboard.
- Click the "New Project" button.
- Enter a descriptive title for your project (e.g., "Phase 1 - Residential Development").
- The platform will initialise a blank canvas.
2. Setting the Site Location
Before importing any data or running hydrological calculations, it is critical to define where your site is located. This coordinate anchors the platform's rainfall generation tools (FEH/FSR) and background map fetches.
- Open the Project Settings (click the gear icon in the top navigation bar).
- Use the interactive map to search for your site address or manually drop the pin on your exact development location.
- The Latitude and Longitude coordinates will automatically update.
- Click Save.
3. Fetching a Background Map
To give your canvas physical context without needing CAD files immediately:
- Open the Import tab on the Right Sidebar.
- Under "Background Settings", select your preferred map style (e.g., "Satellite" or "Streets") from the dropdown menu.
- Click Fetch Map.
- The platform will query Mapbox using your project coordinates and render a scaled, georeferenced background image directly onto your canvas.
You are now ready to begin importing your site geometry or drawing your network manually.
